Honda Pilot Safety
The 2019 Honda Pilot comes with a variety of safety features like Honda Sensing®. Thanks to these safety features, the Honda Pilot is a great choice for Union drivers. Take the trip from Union to VIP Honda to see for yourself!
The 2019 Honda Pilot is designed with safety in mind. However, it also comes with features like Lane Departure Warning and the advanced Honda safety system, the Honda Sensing® safety suite. This high-tech safety suite offers South Plainfield drivers features like:
- Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™): If your Honda Pilot senses an oncoming frontal collision, this feature will apply the brakes to prevent it from happening.
- Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM): This system uses rearview mirror sensors to detect if you are leaving the road. It can then activate steering and brake assist to guide you back to the road.
- Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS): This feature adjusts steering to keep you and your Pilot within the lane markings.
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): Maintain a set speed while on Union streets and keep a safe set distance from a vehicle in front of you.
Can You Deactivate Honda Sensing?
You might be asking yourself, “Is Honda Sensing worth it if I don’t want to use these features all the time?” Yes—you can turn them off. If you want to turn off RDM, you can press a button under ECON. LKS can be turned off by pushing the MAIN button on the steering wheel until the indicators in the instrument cluster are gone. You can also configure Honda Sensing settings via the optional central touchscreen. Hit “Settings,” “Vehicle Settings,” and then “Drive Assist Setup.” This allows you to change RDM warnings, distance warnings for CMBS, and more.
