Have you heard about the upcoming Honda Prologue? This will be Honda’s first ever fully-electric SUV, and it promises to be impressive. Its electric range alone will likely make your Union commute more economical. Honda hasn’t released a lot of details about the Prologue. But we know two very important things from which we can extrapolate a great deal: this is a Honda SUV and it will be equipped with the Ultium battery platform. Keep reading to see what we uncover in our 2024 Honda Prologue preview.

2024 Honda Prologue Preview – Performance

Honda hasn’t released any performance specs for this SUV. But, as we said, the Prologue will be equipped with the Ultium battery platform, which Honda is developing in partnership with GM. We do know what the Ultium platform is capable of. So, here are some Ultium performance highlights to demonstrate what South Plainfield drivers can likely expect from the Prologue:

Ultium Battery Platform Prologue Specs

  • Electric range of at least 300 miles on a full charge
  • 0-60 mph in as low as 3 seconds
  • Energy ranges from 50 to more than 200 kWh
  • FWD, RWD, and AWD applications (first of its kind to support both FWD and RWD variants)
  • Will operate at 400 volts and be capable of DC fast charging at up to 250 kW

2024 Honda Prologue Preview – Internal Space

The Ultium electric platform impacts the room on the inside of the Prologue, as well. Since this battery platform can be stacked vertically in SUVs, it can make more room for passengers and cargo. Experts expect the Prologue to be roughly the size of the Honda Passport. That means we can expect that the electric Prologue will have more room on the inside than the conventional Passport. Here are the Passport dimensions that the Prologue will likely exceed:

  • EPA interior volume -156.1 cu.ft.
  • Cargo capacity, all seats in place – 41.2 cu.ft.
  • Maximum cargo capacity – 77.7 cu.ft.
  • Front head room – 39.5 in.
  • Front leg room – 40.9 in.
  • Front shoulder room – 62.0 in.
  • Front hip room – 59.1 in.

2024 Honda Prologue Preview – Pricing

Honda hasn’t released any pricing details on the Prologue, yet. However, industry experts estimate this SUV to start around $45,000, which isn’t bad for a fully-electric SUV. Of course, we can expect exact pricing to come to light as we get closer to the launch date, which will likely be in 2023.
